University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville
For more than a century, GHS has served the medical needs of the South Carolina Upstate by providing compassionate, comprehensive patient care and training future caregivers. In 1990, this invigorating environment motivated the University of South Carolina (USC) to create a regional campus at GHS for its Columbia medical school, where a portion of its third and fourth-year medical students perform their clinical education. Building on that successful program, the decision was made to expand the Greenville medical campus to a four-year, separately accredited medical school. In 2012, this synergistic partnership between the state's largest university and the state's largest public hospital, the USC School of Medicine Greenville, welcomed its charter class!
